International Video: Bring the Story without Breaking the Budget

If a picture is worth a thousand words, moving pictures are priceless. This is especially true when you’re trying to bring a distant experience closer to your audience.
Ecolab, allowed us to share their customers’ stories in a visually impactful way, without breaking the budget. The project, featuring sites in Spain, Switzerland, Seattle and Denmark, could have racked up the cost in addition to the miles. But we went to work, tapping into our international video network and developing a plan for the quick-turn project.

Careful collaborating and directing a like-minded, local video crew kept costs down. Use of existing video did too. But the biggest cost savings came in the approach. You won’t find expensive, time intensive, staff-laden productions here. At Axiom, we tell the story as journalists.

Step one is to map out the concept as we think it will unfold, staying away from strict scripts that make interviews sound unnatural and forced. Then, video teams of two or three capture the story, creating a conversation with those we interview. A good journalist knows that it’s not just words that communicate. Images tell a story all their own. Our photojournalists have a stunning ability to capture images and create sequences that bring the subject to life.

For Ecolab, we took a complicated topic and made it easier for their audience to understand. The moving images and interviews give it a personality that would never translate in a printed piece. The result is a short, engaging video that tells a story.
