Rob Beachy and Harvy Robbins: PMI-MN Chapter Seminar

Axiom’s Rob Beachy and Harvy Robbins, will be the speakers for the PMI (Project Management Institute) Minnesota Chapter Seminar, November 17th 2015. The organization focuses on providing value to members and the community through opportunities for career development and to advocate the advancement of the project management profession and its disciplines. We are thrilled that the group asked Rob and Harvy to speak on how Effective Project Management provides better results in less time than AGILE.

This all day seminar will teach how effective project managers have the skills to successfully deliver products and services on time and on budget, applying the best process methodologies to meet the requirements of any project.

The key is defining the end solution, all customer requirements and using the most agile device in project management, effective people management, especially with the millennial generation. We will illustrate how effective techniques from concurrent product development can seamlessly translate to effective project management tools.

Behavior styles and leadership skills will be illustrated and tactics developed to more effectively communicate with and manage all personality types and generations.

Effective SCRUM management is another focus, with a workshop to sharpen the skills of effective communication and leadership.

Too often we look for the “new” method when most projects fail due to failure to meet customer requirements. It starts with definition, every requirement and then agreement to roles responsibilities, time lines and communication. Iterative product development is over 100 years old, and although we like renaming it Agile, or Streaming, it is simply one way to approach the problem.
