Minneanalytics Big Data Tech Conference

Minneanalytics Big Data Tech Conference

The more we become involved in MinneAnalytics, the more we learn the power of big data, and most importantly the insight, training and networking offered by this local (and free!) organization. minnelogoFor those new to Minnesota or data analytics, MinneAnalytics is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving Minnesota’s data science and analytics community. They facilitate the sharing of knowledge and ideas among analytics professionals across business, technology and decision science through our industry-specific events and conferences. Belonging to MinneAnalytic is free, and the value of getting involved is nearly infinite for both veterans and those new to the field. The 2016 Big Data Tech conference featured Sri Ambati, CEO of H2O, one of the fastest growing data science startups; Amy O’Connor, Cloudier; Larry Werth founder the early computer vision startup PPT Vision; Lisa Schlosser, CTO of FindLaw; Sean Kande, CEO of Trifecta; and Michael Krouze, CTO of Charter Solutions, to name a few. We were introduced to IBM Watson and received complimentary lessons in both Spark and Python. Speakers from Target, Medtronic, General Mills, Thomson Reuters and other local and national companies provided a plethora of informative and educational sessions, explaining how data analytics benefit their companies and how it can be applied to solve problems and enhance the bottom line of any company. At every conference, you are introduced to new tools and methods, new ideas, and network with people with similar interests throughout the data analytics world. MinneAnalytics is an important and valued organization for all of us in the data science and analytics community. Get involved by going to http://minneanalytics.org/.
